The Donetsk People's Republic is a Ukranian province. But, only 1 singular country recognizes it: Russia.
The Luhansk People's Republic is yet another Ukranian province. Unlike the DPR, the LPR is recognized by 4 countries (Nicaragua, Syria, Belarus and Venezuela) and 2 territories. (DPR and South Ossetia)
@i3ii missed Russia on purpose

The thing is, now I have to do it again, to prove that I have them in my head.
Western Sahara is not an independent state, but not part of Morocco.
Taiwan is an "unofficial" country, with control over its territory.
Kosovo is definitely a country, despite Serbia's wishes, with control over its territory and over half the world's recognition.
Palestine is more complicated, but is in a similar position to Western Sahara.
Therefore, the quiz is correct.
Though Palestine is recognized by most countries in the UN, it is not recognized by all of them (138 of the 193 UN member states). This in of itself is not enough though, as there are numerous entities, like Taiwan, on this quiz that have even less recognition. That is why territorial control is so important. Based on my understanding of the situation, there are two "Palestines": The State of Palestine and Hamas. The non-Hamas State of Palestine is in control of parts of the West Bank, while the majority of the region (and also Jerusalem) is controlled by Israel. Meanwhile, Hamas controls Gaza. So technically, the internationally recognized State of Palestine only controls small, assorted enclaves in the West Bank. This is different from Taiwan's situation, where they maintain complete control over their entire island, and have for over 70 years.
