I'm neither proud nor ashamed that rock lyrics are not my thing. But just as I was clicking "Give up" because I'd answered all the others, "I wanna rock and roll all nite" was going through my mind, and then Lois Griffin got the microphone and stumbled through "And have a pretty good .... day" or whatever it was, and I slapped my forehead and said "K___, you idiot! You did know that one!"
A quibble on wording - there is no such thing as degrees in Kelvin. Kelvin is both the name of the scale, and the unit of measure. So, water doesn't freeze at 273 degrees Kelvin, but at 273 Kelvin (and technically, 273.15 Kelvin, to be precise).
Anyone who has driven across the state might agree it is notorious rather than notable. I remember riding through the southern part of the state as a child before car a/c was available, and I'll never forget the intense heat coming through the window and the boring scenery broken up occasionally by "aromatic" feed lots and oil wells and a few dusty small towns.
The clue doesn't need to be changed. It's like if I asked for the first name of U.S. President Washington. Common sense dictates that he is not the current President.
alextrebekjr, why? Being a geography nerd, knowing all the World's capitals is second nature to me. I've never heard of "KISS" whatever he/she/it might be and I suspect that I don't want to.
My ex was an MP in the Army and stationed in Kansas. He said that when on guard duty, he would stand on a chair and guard the entire state. (I'm sure that similar antics are what got him stationed there in the first place).
Yes, agreed. Please change the clue to reflect that the Kurds are divided between four countries (perhaps a little tricky to word given the autonomous zone). Looks like this quiz hasn't been updated since the fall of the Ottoman Empire ;)
