I feel this is an appropriate place to suggest my most popular quiz "Doubly Landlocked Countries". Those are landlocked countries which border ONLY other landlocked countries.
Great quiz! I only just managed to finish with 5 seconds to spare - I had not realised that Ethiopia was landlocked, despite having completed the Countries of the World quiz multiple times!
Great quiz, just one point, why is it necessary to point out that the Caspian Sea is not part of an Ocean?. Is the Caspian Sea called part of an Ocean in any quiz in jetpunk?
"A sea is a large area of salty water that is part of an ocean or is surrounded by land."
It's a basic truth of language that words mean what they are widely used to mean. If it's called the Caspian Sea then it is a sea. By all means exclude it from the definition of "landlocked", but don't pretend it's not a sea.
You are quoting the definition of sea as a countable noun [Collins] or a part of a name (Caspian, Aral, etc.)[Oxford]. The fact that you didn't went for Oxford or Webster and then specifically picked third definition from the Collins webpage, instead of the first one like a normal person would, makes me think that it was a deliberate attempt to sound smart. Or, at the very least, a clear case of confirmation bias, where you tried to find a definition that fit your opinion, rather that the truth. The true definition of the word is:
Collins dictionary:
"The sea is the salty water that covers about three-quarters of the Earth's surface."
That definition is not really helpfull in this matter, so I would rather use the one from Oxford dictionary, as Oxford is usually the "go to" anyways:
Oxford dictionary:
"the salt water that covers most of the earth’s surface and surrounds its continents and islands"
Because this way you have the option of thinking "Which countries border Azerbaijan?" or "Which countries border Armenia?" instead of forcing you to pick one or the other.
Who says you can’t? I do, my country does most of the reasonable world does, I.e. those with respect for the right to self-determination. A total of 117 countries have decided to recognise Kosovo, I’d prefer that we err on the side of the majority of world governments, rather than pandering to the outdated, nationalistic and chauvinist sentiments of people who don’t live there, haven’t been there, and wouldn’t if you asked them to.
omg ive literally just been reading 'an atlas of extinct countries' by Gideon Defoe and it literally tells u some funny as stuff about it like that the king was always drunk and the queen was always high
Why would that be odd? The Caspian is a lake. Landlocked means no access to the ocean. Not no access to lakes. By that measure, virtually no landlocked countries exist.

A country with an area of over two million square km, with a coastline that's about half the length of the Panama canal.
