Because it's big and largely empty. Besides, I don't know about you, but when I think about stereotypical Argentine images I think of towering Andean peaks and wide open pampas and gauchos - not exactly imagery that makes you think 'crowded'. Patagonia is mostly just empty, wind-blasted treeless steppe.
I was just in Patagonia earlier this year, and remembered how vast and lonely that part of the world can be.. First country I thought of after the obvious Mongolia!
I really don't appreciate all the puns, I'm china focus on eating my turkey, which, alas, karrots are not part of this meal. The chef must have a terrible korea
I can't Belize this chain went on for so long, Israeli not OK. I'mma send my Para-guay bf round, as he's Hungary to teach you a lesson for starting this foolishness. You gotta be more Syrias after all
I got them all without cheating. I started with the answer I knew was #1. Then I guessed Iceland because I know they have a very low population and I remember seeing them on such lists before. Then I moved on to guessing countries that were very large with relatively low populations... mostly the frozen, jungle, or desert countries I referenced in a comment above. That took care of all the rest in the Americas, Asia, northern Europe, and the Sahara. And finally I turned to guessing random countries in Africa since I know that African countries by and large, though growing rapidly now, still don't have the population density of most more prosperous countries- that got me the last few stragglers.
This comment seems to have gone missing now. I remember pointing out before that most of these countries are not very hospitable to human habitation, being either desert, jungle or tundra.
Actually Palestine is very densely populated, being almost entirely urban. The Gaza Strip in particular is one of the most densely populated places on the planet. https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/212340/20-most-densely-populated-countries-and-territories
Equatorial Guinea is the one that seems randomly everywhere for me. Crude oil, Spanish-speaking countries... But I guess Equatorial Guinea has only 93 features quiz appearances and Gabon has 112 features quiz appearances.
I always found it amusing that the world's least densely-populated country (Mongolia) is right next to, arguably, its most intensely-populated (China).
China is not that dense, around 150 per km2. Countries like India are much higher (same population, much smaller territory), countries like Bangladesh or the Netherlands are at another order of magnitude. But the top of the list are small city-states like Singapore or Monaco.
China has a lot of relatively empty land, notably in the west of the country.
I tried all but 2 of the ‘Stans (if you include Pakistan in that group) and then moved on, I tried all but three of the countries in South America before moving on. All were correct answers. Frustrating.
Just like me with South America. I didn't try probably the same 3 (or Brazil) and spent about a minute wondering what I could have missed. I got them with 4 seconds left.
oh no I misspelled Mauritania, didnt noticed it, thought it wasnt on the list bc it didnt accept it, and couldnt find out the last one bc I've already tried it. So sad
Canada-ble pun join the chain?
Was Greenland taken into account when calculating the density for Denmark?
Also, I was going to type Botswana but time ended and forgot how to type C.A.R.(:D)
Good quiz!
Why does almost every game I play has Gabon?
China has a lot of relatively empty land, notably in the west of the country.
Great quiz though.
Knew a lot of these countries would be here, then I just kept guessing more south American and African countries, and got it.
