Ok. Step one. Do the countries of the world quiz that is on this site, then slowly memorise them. That's what I did. Also doing it with Google maps is a help. Sorry this is a cheat's way but it is successful and I doubt all of you did this without some help from trusty google

Level 27

Wouldn't it be easier to start smaller? I'm taking the individual continent ones to help with the Countries of the World quiz. On my first try here I had only gotten Morocco, Egypt, Madagascar, and South Africa. But by repetition and mnemonic devices I'd gotten them all by 3rd or 4th try.

I used to have to use google maps for Africa, I just had absolutely no clue about it. With a few months practice I can now do this quiz solo in any order - practice makes perfect!

If you need to do it with Google Maps then did you really learn it? If you mean to start by using Google Maps then eventually move away from using it, then that's a great way to learn it, but if you mean always using Google Maps, then I'm not sure how much your learning in comparison to other methods like TH0R's.

And it's possible without Google by taking plenty of other African-related quizzes on JetPunk. You could spam this quiz or do the Countries of Africa (with a map, of course).

Easiest way to learn all the countries in a region or on a continent is get a map and spend lots of hours looking at it. Get a colour map where each country is a different colour, that makes it easy to distinguish different countries. Memorise a few countries at a time, like border countries gradually. Once you've got it locked in there, its there

When did the answers go from being in two columns to being a scrolling list? It makes it much, much slower if you're on a desktop. :-/

One tip for people who have trouble distinguishing countries that come in 'pairs' like Niger and Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Eswatini and Lesotho.

Work them down alphabetically. E.g. the northernmost country of the pair is the one that would come first in the alphabet.

I also have trouble distinguishing between Angola and Namibia, and that rule works too there.

Have fun quizzing!

I wish there were versions of these map quizzes where you don't know the answers until the end. If it was like that you wouldn't be able to rely on process of elimination which would make it more challenging
