Could be a bit of a stretch referring to Exmouth, Broome, Kalgoorlie and Mildura as "cities". And although I can imagine people from outside Australia having trouble with this quiz, I'm surprised only 70% of people have got Melbourne correct.
Yeaaah I've been to Broome and Kalgoorlie, and to call that a city, but not Bunbury or Albany, is a bit insane. Like these places are only "cities" cus they're the only place with more than 5 people for hundreds of KMs.
I don't think this list is supposed to be comprehensive. That's said, Exmouth is definately not a city, Broome is pushing it, Kalgoorlie and Mildura are probably more reasonable by the Australian definition of a city.
I only got two correct but received five points. (Missed two I should have gotten.) That's a sad representation of how little many of us know about Australia. But I kept trying and on the third try got them all.
Errr...no it's not. Google Maps says it's 1 hour 13 minutes from Brisbane to Tweed Heads (on the border with New South Wales) & in my experience it's often longer than that due to traffic. Yes, I live in S-E Queensland.
Usually it takes about an hour to drive from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, and at peak hour add another half hour at least. To Tweed Heads I'd say an hour and a half, usually.
While I can name more Australian cities from memory than the average American I'm not nearly as good at placing them (10). Everything I know about location comes from a board game - and it wasn't enough.
Got them all with 2:55 remaining at 4:55:55 PM on February 6, 2019, increasing my point total by 5 points, from 766 to 771. I was able to figure it out because I know the locations of the big ones, capitals plus those of Alice Springs, Cairns, Rockhampton, Broome, Kalgoorlie, and that the eastern side of Australia is higher, which gave a context clue for Mount Isa. Lucky guesses for Mildura and Exmouth finished it off.
The peninsula that Exmouth is on is under the dot, exactly where it's marked on the map.
