Egypt is not considered part of Asia. It is considered part of the 54 countries of Africa. This quiz was talking about the middle east. Some countries in the middle east are part of Asia. Not Egypt though.
For the love of god - I click on several things at once, so they open in other tabs, and then I come back to the others. STOP MAKING THE TIME START AUTOMATICALLY! All quizzes should not have the timer start until I click on something to start the quiz. I hate going back to a page and seeing that my score is zero, because you decided to make a quiz start by itself. How hard is it to be consistent on all of your quizzes?
^ up for debate. But even if it wasn't, not a relevant comment. The Middle East is not a continent. The countries we conceive of as being part of it are there because of their geography as well as their cultural, historical, geopolitical and other ties.
The ME is a region, not a continent. It may include countries from different continents, just like Latin America includes countries from both Americas and excludes others. The region is defined by political and ethno-religious historical ties. MENA is another example, which adds the rest of North Africa to the Middle East.
I'm just gonna say, not trying to cause arguments or anything but most world maps have the centre like the world countries quiz on here so from that perspective it is in the middle of the map but on the eastern side of the map so from that view it is the Middle East.
jeez, everyone's getting so angry about the inclusion of palestine! but first of all, there is nothing in this quiz that SAYS palestine is a country (it literally says palestinian TERRITORIES), and also, just because it doesnt have official status as a country doesn't mean that it's not middle eastern. like, french guiana isn't a country, but it's still on the south american map quiz, right? because it's part of south america!! anyways rant over, y'all need to calm down. -_-
Have you read through the comments? As of now Palestine holds that area. QM isn't saying its a country, he calls it Palestinian Territories, but for crying out loud, this is a MAP quiz. He can include whatever he wants as long as he can back it up.
They aren't saying Palestine is a country. It isn't recognized. But this is a MAP quiz, not a COUNTRIES OF THE MIDDLE EAST QUIZ. And as of now, Palestine owns that area.
Comments that say Palestine is a country are considered political and get deleted, but comments that say Palestine is not a country are considered apolitical and get to stay.
That is not all, but if I elaborate, the chances this comment gets deleted go up to 100%.
To quote a deleted comment by Jerry928, formerly one of the most liked comments on the whole site:
"There's nothing political about accepting reality, and the reality is that Palestine is recognised as a country by most (137 of 196; 70%) of the world's countries. That recognition level is far greater than Kosovo (108) or Taiwan (23). It also has UN observer status, which is the same UN status as Vatican City, unlike Kosovo and Taiwan, which have no UN status at all."
It had 120 likes. Now that it's deleted, many of the most liked comments are anti-Palestine, sometimes viciously so. Reading these comments gives a vastly skewed view of what this site's users actually overwhelmingly believe.
For the last time, everyone, Egypt is apart of the Middle East. It's considered to be apart of it because of their Language, (Which is Arabic) and because Egypt is apart of the Arab League.
Regarding to the recognition of the UNO, which makes authority in these cases, Palestine is recognized as a country on its own since 2012, even though it isn't ranked as a member, but as a observator non-member, has the same status than Vatican, and then Cook Islands and Niue are in the same category. It depends on who you're looking at, UNO or Jetpunk, and in some cases as Palestine or Taiwan, the answer may be different.
The only thing I wanted to say before reading comments: It's now time to change... Turkey to Turkiye (at least in both orthographs).
So are Taiwan (only recognised by 14 countries and not a UN member) and Kosovo (only recognised by 97 countries and also not a UN member), whereas Palestine is recognised by 144 UN members and has non-member observer state status (the same status held by Vatican City). So why is it these countries are recognised but Palestine shouldn't be?
Wow. Just wow.
Good quiz but some would say that the Palestinian Territories aren’t technically speaking a ‘country’ of their own.
Good enough for a fetus

btw a lot of people believe . . . lies
aka spread hate.
What is anti-Palestine, viciously so, is using them, sacrificing them because you want to kill Jews.
