^ up for debate. But even if it wasn't, not a relevant comment. The Middle East is not a continent. The countries we conceive of as being part of it are there because of their geography as well as their cultural, historical, geopolitical and other ties.

The ME is a region, not a continent. It may include countries from different continents, just like Latin America includes countries from both Americas and excludes others. The region is defined by political and ethno-religious historical ties. MENA is another example, which adds the rest of North Africa to the Middle East.

jeez, everyone's getting so angry about the inclusion of palestine! but first of all, there is nothing in this quiz that SAYS palestine is a country (it literally says palestinian TERRITORIES), and also, just because it doesnt have official status as a country doesn't mean that it's not middle eastern. like, french guiana isn't a country, but it's still on the south american map quiz, right? because it's part of south america!! anyways rant over, y'all need to calm down. -_-

Have you read through the comments? As of now Palestine holds that area. QM isn't saying its a country, he calls it Palestinian Territories, but for crying out loud, this is a MAP quiz. He can include whatever he wants as long as he can back it up.

Regarding to the recognition of the UNO, which makes authority in these cases, Palestine is recognized as a country on its own since 2012, even though it isn't ranked as a member, but as a observator non-member, has the same status than Vatican, and then Cook Islands and Niue are in the same category. It depends on who you're looking at, UNO or Jetpunk, and in some cases as Palestine or Taiwan, the answer may be different.

The only thing I wanted to say before reading comments: It's now time to change... Turkey to Turkiye (at least in both orthographs).

So are Taiwan (only recognised by 14 countries and not a UN member) and Kosovo (only recognised by 97 countries and also not a UN member), whereas Palestine is recognised by 144 UN members and has non-member observer state status (the same status held by Vatican City).
