I am from greece and I found difficult to understand how they had divided the states in the area next to ohio illinois and north.
also harsh think is to clear the states near vermont and new jersey. generally in other parts the situation is easier due to the fact that the majority of areas are big and clear.
There's actually a lot of history of the names and borders of each state. Like why Michigan has a non-contiguous upper peninsula or the fact that when Texas first joined the US it had territory that extended as far north into what is now Wyoming. Names that never came to be included homages to Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. Suffice to say, it's a long story. Not nearly as long as Greek history but interesting all the same.
Think you know the countries like the back of your hand? Try seeing if you can list them in reverse alphabetical order with my new quiz, Countries of the World Z-A: https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/284204/countries-of-the-world-z-a
I used to confuse therm too. Now that I live in Louisiana, I know that I drive through Mississippi before Alabama on my way to South Carolina, so now I remember which is which.
Does anyone have a trick for telling Colorado and Wyoming apart?? I need to fill out a US map as part of a Social Studies exam and I can never remember which is which.
Still can't believe that I have beaten the countries of the world quiz several times, yet always make at least one miss-click during this quiz. Have been trying to beat this quiz since 2016.
I'm the world's most beautiful and cleverest person, also I'm like 4 years old, also I got more correct than all of you because I am omniscient, also I have the power of levitation and mind-reading and also I don't live within the boundaries of space and time so I actually finished the quiz with more than 100% before it was even published on this website.
Still trying out the new SVG on these quizzes. I think I like it. Takes a little getting used to but it seems better, with more practice it will be easier than the old method. Nice update. Appreciate the time you spent to do this task.
Your new drop down menu listing the states is the pits. It was hard enough making sure you hovered over the correct answer without having to scroll up or down and then be sure you hit the right one.
I am 3 trillion years old, and after completing the whole test in 417 million years, and I am from Star Trek, and I was born next week, I STILL got over 719 quadrillion out of 2 questions.
You young humans are pathetic, what you need to mimic a fraction of my power. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I find it interesting that people have an easier time with New Mexico, Washington, and Oregon than New York. Also, as someone from Missouri, I'm a little disappointed that Missouri's the one people miss the most, especially as it has a fairly unique shape, unlike all the square western states which people apparently have an easier time with.
