Funny to look at some of these teams like the Mets, Orioles, Padres, Royals that had one remarkable player make it so many times and absolutely no one else comes to mind (maybe Piazza for the Mets?). And others, you scroll through ten names in your head and just start guessing blindly. Cannot believe Robin Yount didn't make it for the Brewers, Pete Rose for the Reds, or Duke Snider for the Dodgers. Very interesting stuff.
More came to mind for each, though not many for the Royals - Hal McRae, Amos Otis. besides Piazza for the Mets - Gooden, Strawberry, Beltran, Wright and Carter. Orioles - Frank Robinson, Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Murray, Powell. Padres - Gonzalez, Hoffman, Nate Colbert, Winfield.
Rose didn't stay with the Reds long enough to surpass Bench. I was also surprised about Robin Yount.
AUSCUBA:"Rose didn't stay with the Reds long enough to surpass Bench."
What? Bench was with the Reds for 16 full seasons. (1968-1983) Rose was with the Reds for 16 full seasons (1963-1978) to start his career. He came back for a half-season in 1984, and tacked on 2 more seasons after that.
Yep, Helton is your default Rockie. So many players put up inflated numbers there, we remember them as Rockies. Burks, Galarraga, Walker and such were All Stars from other teams.
Yep. From 1959 thru 1962, there were 2 All-Star games played each season. So even though Roberto Clemente only had 12 All-Star seasons, he was a 15-time All-Star. (twice in 1960, twice in 1961 and twice in 1962)
He was not an All-Star in 1968, the only time after 1960 that he failed to hit .300.
Whoops. This has been fixed. Clemente played in 15 All-Star games, having been selected 12 times. There were some years that had multiple All-Star games.
Appreciate you took the time to accept nicknames like "Goldy" and "Miggy"; tried them not really expecting either to work. "Gio" and "Giancarlo" were reaches, and I won't be that guy who asks you to add more. Well, this time, anyway.

Yount was a total surprise. Played forever for one team and copped two MVPs.
F. Robinson moved around, but Brooks? Ripken really was an iron man, huh?
