No real surprises on the list, but the order is interesting. I am surprised by France's high ranking, but guess it makes sense given its historical/cultural importance. Little Switzerland made the list! Netherlands gave me the hardest time. I only guessed it after trying Sweden, Norway, and even Denmark. One of my rules of thumb on any Jetpunk quiz is: always remember Turkey. Turkey seems to make almost any list of countries, but it is routinely the one that I neglect. Sure enough: there it is again! Luckily, I remembered it this time.
Same with the Netherlands. Interesting that its not the least guessed in main quiz, but in this one people seem to get Greece more (which I had no trouble with). Maybe it's just a coincidence
Cyprus… is a mystery. No one knows where it lies. If you look at it from Ankara, it lies south. If you look at it from Cairo, it lies north. So really… it’s a mystery that will perhaps never be solved.
Of course... that is other than the United States, China, India, Japan, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt, and Iran. So basically only Europe.
I think the scandinavian countries, south africa and south korea. (And then portugal, greece, ukraine and saudi arabia. I'll stop now before I name them all ;) ow and new zealand and ireland )
18/20 missed Iran and Switzerland, I thought I already typed Switzerland but I guess I did not, but anyways my points would not increase just my high score, cool quiz by the way
This seems like pretty good proof that JetPunk isn't "too America-centric." Though I will say I'm surprised that the UK is so low (at least relative to the other major European countries).
Additionally, many quizzes are about states, sports, cities, etc, rather than mentioning the country as a whole. There's plenty of American content that isn't captured by just looking for the name "United States".
@Bobandy, that's a good point, but it's also a point that highlights my issue with people saying JetPunk is too America-centric. The quizzes that are America-centric are usually pretty clearly marked as such, and even though there are a lot of them, they hardly make up the majority of the site. If international visitors don't know much about America, there are plenty of other quizzes that they can take that are pretty global in scope.
So while I agree that it'd be awesome if other countries got more representation here, as a whole I don't think the site is too America-centric because 1. the US is the biggest user base and 2. there are still plenty of quizzes available for non-US users.
I was surprised USA made the list , let alone topped it. Most US-themed quizzes in general ask for US state names. Maybe the Top 10s series propelled it to the top.
Maybe Australia is the odd one here. It isn't specially important historically or culturally (not as much as the others in this quiz anyway), and is not a top contender in population.
Got them all, but surprised none of the microstates like Singapore, Monaco, or Vatican City made it. Seems like they would be on a lot of regular country quizzes as well as smallest country quizzes, smallest population quizzes, highest density quizzes, etc.
I'm surprised that the average is 18 out of 20
Cyprus is in the Atlantic Ocean.
And vive la France!

The only one I missed was the most obvious (Germany).
