Well yes, you could say it is a country. But if you do that then you would have to count every US state as a country as well. The only difference is in the names. In the USA these regions are called states, UAE they are called Emirates, UK they are called countries, but in reality they are all a similar idea: semi-autonomous regions of a larger sovereign nation.
I've been roaming around Germany for the last ~8 years and it's nearly impossible to find a place without Japanese tourists. They are getting overpowered by the Chinese now, but still.
Thanks for the link I added the few countries I visited. I was suggest maybe a special subsection for French Polynesia. I visited Tahiti on the way to study in New Zealand. Felt weird selecting France since I've never been to Europe but that was the best option I could think of.
Japanese tourists are by far the most polite and courteous tourists in the world. I'd be happy they visit my country any day compared to certain others.
