Found this quiz to be pretty easy, even though I didn't know the name of Jason's ship I was able to deduce it from "Jason and the Argonauts," and I don't think I've ever heard of nor seen the film Manhattan.
Oddly, I got that thanks to They Might Be Giants' "Birdhouse In Your Soul". "...after killing Jason off and countless screaming Argonauts. Bluebird of friendliness, like guardian angels it's always near..."
True but this site cuts off answers at the weirdest places. I am not surprised if booksho would already be accepted for bookshop. It is not that ridiculous yet but many times it comes close. I get if it won't get accepted, but it is not an unfair request, it fits the names clue. And even on quizzes where there is only one clue often the s is disregarded.
I don't think it's fair that so many of the questions are US specific. Things like the state flower of Mississippi and some town in Arizona aren't really known internationally.
There was a movie released in the late 90s called Hoods with Joe Mantegna, Kevin Pollak and Joe Pantoliano. That was my first answer for the henchmen clue.
I thought that, too. With more investigation, though, I have found that goonies doesn't actually work. Goons could work, but apparently "goonies" is a reference to birds when it's not used to specifically refer to that movie. That said, Minions are stupid and awful.
I'm so groomed on crosswords where there's a firm rule that the clue can't contain the any of its answer --- like "China" in "Chinatown". Not so on Jetpunk but it still irks me nonetheless.
I know that Minions is like a million times better-known, but for the "toadies/henchmen" clue I was really committed to a Chuck Norris movie called "Sidekicks." I tried it like five times.
