I really enjoyed this. It was taxing enough to be a fun challenge, but not tooooo difficult. Thank you for your work in creating it. You did a good job as I had never heard of the movie 'Grave of the Fireflies' but managed to guess it from your clue.
I couldn't get "The Quick and the Dead" out of my head for the 1st clue, even though I knew it didn't fit. Once I saw the answer I was glad I didn't get it. I believe the "Fastchise" to be an American catastrophe, slightly above that city in Ohio or its river that catches fire.
Hoosiers is a nickname for people from Indiana. The film is about a small town Indiana basketball team that, against the odds, goes to the championship game and beats a bigger city team.
Really fun quiz. Thanks. Got most, but not Indianans. I figured it was a name that Americans called people from Indiana, but who knows what that is when you live in NZ?! Now I know :-)
After reading a good few comment sections on this site, I've got a slight inkling that kiwiquizzer might be from New Zealand. I'm still gathering evidence, but that's what my preliminary findings suggest.
It's a fantastic anime, but also the saddest film I ever viewed. People often mention Schindler's List or Titanic when it comes to sad movies but they look rather bright in comparison...
How did so many people know what "au pair" means? And how did so relatively fewer people get Grave of the Fireflies? Like everyone else, I had never heard of it, but it was the obvious answer based on the synonyms. I thought "au pair" meant that my order came with gravy.
I put grave of fireflies but it did not count however I simply wrote streetcar and it was immediately accepted. I understand Grave of Fireflies isn't the exact title but could you please accept it?
Maybe say "The Emerald Kilometer (or at least 6/10ths of it)", or something along those lines. Those two words are hardly synonyms...loved "Near Meetings of the Tertiary Type"
Wow, I've never even heard of Single White Female, Doesn't even remotely ring a bell. Which is fine, I obviously don't know every movie, but a lot more people got it than other movies that I thought were fairly well known.
Expect to be devastated.
I went completely wrong on some of these at first :
Swift and the livid => Quick and the dead
Fuschia Jaguar => Pink Cadillac ^^
Not complaining, just commenting :)
It's nice to be able to guess your way through some of the ones you don't know
SMH... shook it off in time, though.
