According to Wikipedia, the contrast between New York and Los Angeles is a central theme of Annie Hall. Central themes are not a nitpick.

If I recall, the LA portion of the movie is quite small. For an either/or quiz, no one would classify Annie Hall as taking place in Los Angeles; it's clearly a New York City movie, so it seems like a nitpick to claim that based on an opinion out of Wikipedia.

You don't seem to understand how Wikipedia works; or more precisely, you have a very surface knowledge about it. BS edits are quickly corrected. Granted, not all articles share the same levels of scrutiny and some inaccuracies or falsehoods in minor articles might last longer, but it's still for the most part quite reliable. A study has shown it to be about as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica.

It's a Woody Allen movie. It's set in New York.

I know it's a joke, but some of his movies don't take place in New York at all, and if they do it's usually for a couple seconds of screentime.

While most of Annie Hall does take place in NY, Alvie travels to LA at least twice, and Annie actually moves there during the movie. I would say Annie Hall takes place in both cities

I never really paid attention to Blade Runner, but the high density city seems like something that will never happen in Los Angeles.

Blade Runner and its sequel take place in a future (even though the original movie is actually set in a date now in our past) very different from the present. The geography of the whole world seems different, as there are vast sea walls made to protect cities from the rising oceans caused by Global Warming to it constantly raining in Los Angeles, to other cities like Las Vegas being totally abandoned.

Wow, surprised I got them all. Most were easy, but there were four or five I wasn't sure on and guessed right on them all.

Missed on Big because I always associate Tom Hanks with Los Angeles, but I remembered after seeing the answer that Zoltar is located on a boardwalk not far from where I grew up in New York.

Die Hard gave me some pause because McClane is a NYC cop and Die Hard with a Vengeance is set in NYC.

Also, the original trilogy (I pretend 4 and 5 didn’t happen. 4’s actually a fairly OK action movie, it just feels more like a generic action movie than a Die Hard movie, and it is PG-13; as it doesn’t feel like a Die Hard movie to me, I generally don’t consider it alongside the trilogy. 5 is pure trash) further blurs the line.

In 1 he is a New York cop in Los Angeles.

In 2 he is an LA Cop (back w/ Holly) in DC.

In 3 he split w/ Holly & is a New York cop in NY.

Annie Hall is not a great choice. As others have mentioned, it takes place prominently in both cities.

I see the caveat about nitpicking, and I bet everyone who comments that some scenes from Annie Hall took place in Los Angeles got the answer right, because they know that most of the movie took place in NYC and that's what you were getting at.

None of this changes the fact that Annie Hall is a poor choice. At some point, you'll edit the quiz to reflect that. Why not now?
