A nickle is a type of bird. Also, nepotism refers to preferences given to relatives, not just those with whom one has a personal connection. Switch family for personal.
Can someone explain what the difference between a Narthex and a Nave is? I'm sure there is a difference but I kept trying Narthex and I'd never heard of a Nave.
Yes, what ^ said. The narthex is outside the main body of the church, whereas the nave is part of the inside of the church. Often, the building is set up in a way that you go in one set of doors, which takes you to the narthex. You will then enter a second set of doors to get into the actual church, which is when you enter the nave. Since the narthex is actually its own "room", I hear it referred to more ("Gather in the narthex, please"), as opposed to "nave", which most people will just know as "the inside of the church."
It was definitely common when I was at primary school. But we thought our teachers pretentious for calling them literacy and numeracy, and refused to call them anything other than English and Maths.
Literacy and numeracy are not synonymous with 'English' and 'Maths' as subjects . They are the basics first, Reading and Arithmetic, taught to enable pupils to use them to learn English and Maths overall. Your Teachers were specifying literacy and numeracy skills within English and Maths and emphasising them to ensure that these were realised as important, and are, supposedly, measurable for ranking schools purposes.
I don't think Nib is the correct English term for a birds Beak except quoting in Old Dutch or Low German. I think the word 'Nibble' comes from the same root.
I agree with Anzi - nymph is not a deity but various types of nature spirits, not regarded as Gods but summoned to Olympus by the Gods at their request
Could you change the clue to be "minor Greek deities" instead? If it's plural, it will insinuate that you are looking for a type of deity, rather than a specific one by name, which is what I kept trying.
If only I was a churchgoing alcoholic who practices favoritism ;)
btw I completely misinterpreted the nepotism clue I thought something like a society where family values are important. Where how friendly you are means more than how good you are at something. So not undeserving appointments of positions (through manipulation and for their own power) but what is more valued
That one threw me! Fun quiz though, thanks!
I wouldnt call her minor anyway
I thought it was pretty proper :D
Turns out I did it before and missed the same 3 as last year. (neat, nave and nepotism. Was close for nave)btw I completely misinterpreted the nepotism clue I thought something like a society where family values are important.
