I didn't check them all, but Eartha Kitt was most definitely Catwoman and should be accepted

@leni - Eartha Kitt never played Catwoman in a movie, only the 60s TV show. Lee Meriwether played Catwoman in the movie version of the TV show.

Also, The Firm should also count for a John Grisham movie.

Agreed - The Firm was the first one by Grisham

Don't know how I missed The Firm. Fixed!

I assume voice roles don't count because otherwise Zoë Kravitz and a bunch of other actresses would need to be added.

Actually, Zoë Kravitz should be added eventually anyway since she's also gonna be playing Catwoman in live-action.

I did surprisingly well on this considering my mind usually goes totally blank when it comes to film and music quizzes.

BTW First Kill is another Bruce Willis film with a number in the title.

"First" is a number?

It's as much a number as "fifth" and "sixth" which are accepted

'Sixth' has the word 'six' in it and so should be included but agree that fifth shouldn't be allowed if first isn't

You have "A Hard Day's Night" listed as an answer, but it doesn't work, with or without the "A" (this was the first movie of which I thought)

Just double-checked. It does work, with or without the A.

Matt Damon's character also went into space in Titan A.E.

Also, Matt Damon's character didn't "go to space" in Interstellar - his character's journey through space isn't shown in the film.

Or... if we're including any film in which his characters have been into space even *before* the events of the film, then you would also need to include Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon, in which Matt Damon played the astronaut Alan Shepard - and possibly other films as well.

Added Titan A.E. but Interstellar is staying.

By that logic, Magnificent Desolation needs to be added as well.

Not exactly proud of knowing this, but "Diary of Mad Black Woman" is actually the film in which Tyler Perry originates the role of Madea, and he's listed under "starring" on its Wikipedia page, and it currently isn't accepted as a correct answer.

I think it’s because Madea isn’t the main focus of that movie. Her niece, or whatever, is the main character.

Also not very proud to know that but who cares?

Seconded that Diary of a Mad Black Woman should be accepted. It was the first one I thought of, although I eventually remembered one of the other titles.

Great quiz overall, would love to see more like this!

North America vs Rest of the World box office $$$ on Wikipedia make it obvious why "Madea" was a total blank for me. So, question, is this a series you'd recommend I should catch up with online?

I had no idea there were 12 Madea movies. And 11 plays (though some are "recorded plays").

Who funds that/where is the money made? I thought Madea movies were known to be terrible, like Sandler movies.

Maybe they get sold to black entertainment cable channels or something?

It looks like they generally cost $20-25m to make, and return $50-75m- as I understood, a "success" was considered to be about 2.5x the budget.

Maybe it's Tyler Perry's personal business or something

That film doesn't have the Beatles in it though, it's just Beatles-centric. If the question were asking for films involving or based around the Beatles, there would be a ton, but it's asking specifically for films that the Beatles appeared in as a group.

I tried 'A Cry in the Dark' for the Meryl Streep question, but it didn't work. I am assuming you have this listed as 'Evil Angels', which was the title of the film in Australia and NZ. But it was released internationally as 'A Cry in the Dark', and so this was the title used for her oscar nomination.

Since it says "movie" in the John Grisham question you should all the answers be the actually movie title and not the book title such as Skipping Christmas really should be Christmas With the Kranks.
