I have to go for Bears because they are for my state (Even though they are terrible), but otherwise, go Seahawks! How did they not win this Super Bowl?! They were so close!!!!
No team is guessed less than 70% and that's good and shows a lot of sports fans are taking this quiz, but if you didn't get the Packers you need to take a course in Football 101
You think that's bad? From 1953 thru 1966 the Colts were based in Baltimore and were in the NFL's West Division.
After the 1970 merger, the Colts were 1 of 3 NFL teams to join the former AFL teams in comprising the new AFC, and they were placed in the AFC East. When they moved to Indianapolis, they simply remained in the same division. With the addition of the Houston Texans in 2002, the NFL needed to re-align from 6 divisions to 8, each consisting of 4 teams.
The NFL relied upon a mix of geography & preservation of certain rivalries to determine who landed where. While Miami may have seemed like the logical choice to move to the South Division, they had deeper ties to the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots & New York Jets than the Colts did, as all but the Colts were in the old AFL together, and all had been in their current cities much longer than the Colts.
I was looking through the list of quizzes I haven't done, and this one was always at the top. I'm in the UK where football is soccer, and American football looks like rugby with padding (no offence, truly!). So my only chance of getting more than 0 was to think of references I've seen on TV, and of listening to work colleagues who watch it. All this is my way of saying that 17 isn't bad for me!!
I would've finished with more than 1:25 left if it would've read 'pats' instead of 'patriots'... I stacked up a bunch of teams before realizing it... Sadly, I probably would've had about 2mins left had it read 'pats'...
I "like" how you can still use the term redskins for the disgrace that is the Washington Professional Football team. In fact, I would offer up a suggestion that the answer should be "A disgrace that is the Washington Professional Football team"
If you think there aren't plenty of guys on the Niners who cycle off the juice in time to avoid testing positive, I have this really nice bridge I think you might be interested in.....
I just couldn't seem to get the Seachickens, SF Whiners, LA Scams, Arizona Turdinals, TB Yucks, New Orlean Ain'ts, Carolina Prancers, Atlanta Geese, Teddy Bears, Minnesota Dirt Kings, GB Slackers, Detroit Kittens, Cowgirls, Deadskins, Giant Babies, PhilaDERPia Beagles, Donkeys, Oakland 'Taters, KC Chumps, LA Deadbolts, Tennessee Weaklings, Houston Wrecked Things, Jacksonville Kitty-Cats, Indianapolis Ponies, New Engrand Cheatriots, Cryami Fish, Buffalo No Thrills, New York Paper Airplanes, Armpittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bagels, Baltimore Raisins, or the Cleveland Browns to work. Weird.
OH! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult your favorite team, whoever you are that is reading this. I guess I, another infamous keyboard warrior, just got way too caught up in something that makes absolutely no difference in my personal life whatsoever at all, thus causing me to think insulting other peoples' personal preferences and opinions (of which some are obviously bad and horrible) would make all my pain and suffering caused by the sport and other keyboard warriors to go away and make my life happier. Sorry. Well, Gotta go! I have to go cheer against my least favorite team and talk trash towards their fans. Hmmmm.... I wonder how my team is doing.....
I wonder why that last team you mentioned wouldn't work. Maybe if you tried the "Clowns"? LOL I live in NE Ohio - and bad as they are, people here still love them. Go figure.
That was actually a fun read. I think Houston's nickname needs a bit of work, though. And as a Bengals fan, I'll have you know that Cincinnati's official pejorative nickname is "Bungles" not "Bagels". If you're going to insult them, the least you can do is be accurate. This stuff almost matters! :-P
I'm starting to wonder if there are a ton of people from the New York City area on this site because of how high all of the New York teams are on these sport quizzes. Especially the Jets.
I never have liked the geographical stretches of the imagination put in play in assigning NFL teams to specific conferences which don't often make sense. I submit Dallas Cowboys are hardly an "eastern" team, Indianapolis Colts no way is a "southern" location, Kansas City Chiefs don't belong in any "western" conference unless it's western Missouri(!). In the pre-merger years of the 50s there were 2 divisions of 6 teams each: NFL Eastern---Chicago Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins. NFL Western---Baltimore Colts, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers. Kind of a stretch to consider the Baltimore franchise in the "west", LOL.
My mom's family are all HUGEEE Football fans, I was born a Bengal, I was raised a Bengal, and I will always be a Bengal. For everyone who is a Steelers or Patriots fan, yall disgust me, and for anyone who is a Browns fan, pick a decent team to support, will ya?
I've never heard of the Buccaneers and the Bills. I'm not the biggest NFL fan though (+from Europe so NFL is hardly ever on the news) Kinda proud I got 20/31! :D
I have created another quiz. NFL: Top 50 Players of all Time. Check it out if you want! Thanks for playing my quizzes, as it's pretty hard to get popular on this site before you get featured.
Indy in the AFC South despite being further north than half of the AFC North is about as weird as Dallas in the NFC East even though there's nothing that screams "East" about it.
...or "Bungles" for Bengals
...or "Donkeys" for Broncos
...or "Lambs" for Rams
Opposing fans can come up with some pretty funny alternate nicknames for their rivals.

Redskins took the L yesterday. :(
Yes I left the 'i' out of the word.
