When I went to school my teachers taught me that Pluto is a planet. I love my teachers but now I realize not only was this incorrect but so were so many things. Now I realize that so many of the "smart people" in the world rely on such terrible assumptions and facts. There are worlds without end, creations eternal and they will continue. I agree with Moses who saw the universe and said, I am nothing. The vastness of God's creations are astounding. The Hubble and many other things make me know that God is everlasting and am so humbled by his creations.
In defence of your teachers it has to be admitted that until Mike Brown discovered Eris (followed by the debate about Pluto's planetary status) in 2006, Pluto was scientifically recognized as a planet.
Unfortunately (and with respect to whatever other conclusions you came to) you learned the wrong lesson from Pluto being categorized as a dwarf planet.
Elementary school terminology, like the lumping and splitting of celestial bodies into planets, asteroids and so forth is usually a matter of fashion and convenience and does not reveal some deeper truth, nor is it handed down from on high. Instead, when a previous taxonomy is no longer useful, it's modified or thrown out in favor of something that is more useful. The facts haven't changed and our understanding of them hasn't even changed; we've just found a more consistent way to describe things to schoolchildren.
That's one of the great things about science--it has a lot of problems but it also contains within its practice a mechanism for improvement on objective bases. It makes much more satisfying semantics than "Pluto is a planet because God said and it's always been that way", which leads nowhere intellectually.
My Very Exciting Magic carpet Just Sailed Under Nine palace elephants. C is Ceres the other E is Eris. You'll would know what the P is (clue: it too is not a planet)
Everybody talks about global warming, but nobody ever mentions the problem of global shrinkage. Due to climate change the people on the earth are getting lazier, shorter and fatter. I'm of average height and I'm getting tired of being exposed to the tops of other people's heads.
Thanks to my fourth grade classmate, Isa (Thank you very very much, if you see this! I might see you by the time we get to high school! Also, please be safe and healthy!), we learned it this way:

I'm younger than a 2006 baby, but I know quite some stuff for my age.
when i played this quiz, i got an interesting fact that said this,"Pluto was demoted to dwarf planet status in 2006 after the discovery of Eris, a trans-Neptunian object with a greater mass." coincidence? i need a percentage what is the chances???
Thousands of users on this website have made all kinds of unique, fun, and creative quizzes that nobody will ever get to see because QM has decided that it is absolutely necessary to feature the Planets of the Solar System quiz for the 10,000th time instead of featuring a user-created quiz that's actually new and interesting.
Is it not hard for you to put in the name of the planet that 99% of its people call it by?
In August 24, 2006.
There are 3 criteria to become a planet
Pluto did not meet the 3rd one.
So for people who says pluto a planet
PLUTO IS NOT A PLANET
in 2006 it was classified as a dwarf planet >:(

PERIOD
That does work though, but no one usually says period at the end. 1:13 seconds left.
(1:24)
took me a few attempts my first attempt was 1:22 (8 seconds)
So dwarf planets are still planets.
Therefore, Pluto is still a planet.
