Nusantara is the new capital of Indonesia!!!! We'll gradually be updating all our quizzes.
Edit, the next morning:
Or is it... Information on the internet is scarce to non-existent. Wikipedia changed the capital to Nusantara so I followed suit. But maybe some key ceremony didn't take place? Because Wikipedia says that in the SAME ARTICLE where says that Nusantara is the capital. Which is it? Why are there no sources anywhere? We'll allow Jakarta as a type in for that answer for the time being. Hopefully this gets cleared up in the next few days. What a mess and I apologize.
Further edit:
We are reverting back to Jakarta. I should not have made the change and I apologize again. Wikipedia led me astray but I should have held out for official sources. If and when the official decree is made, I will change the quiz but no stats will be reset.
Palestine was here before Israel. To be impartial to the conflict over there, both Palestine and Israel should be listed. Perhaps because the original capital of Palestine was Jerusalem, they have not listed it. Ramallah is its present administrative capital.
Palestine was the english colony where modern day Israel is. Then that land was granted independence and became Israel. Technically, Palestine was never a country.
According to Wikipedia (and other sources), the planned city of Nusantara is scheduled to be completed by 2045. Considering the project started only in 2022, it would indeed be way too early to make it the capital now.
Hello! I'm Indonesian and I'm thanking you for sticking with Jakarta as Indonesia's capital city! It is true that Nusantara will be our new capital city, but it's not official yet until our president inform it's decision which we call Keppres or Keputusan Presiden (The President's Decree). Until then, Jakarta's still the capital city.
In other words, Jakarta is Indonesia's de jure capital city, while Nusantara is its de facto.

please separate Kingstown (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) and Kingston (Jamaica) from being a single guess, its pretty annoying when trying to practice, let people guess them apart. Thank You
When i was a teenager I struck out with this one girl, and I’d take this quiz repeatedly and try to memorize all of the capitals to take my mind off of it.
I still think of her whenever I miss South Tarawa.
got 166, but could have gotten closer to 190 if i had more time. didnt know the capitals of some small caribbean islands or burundi, and couldnt spell the capital of suraname.
also i always rememberthat burundis capital is bujumbura.
Finally I only have 10 left. I started learning 2 months ago when I only knew 40. Now I know 186. Hopefully I'll get them all in a few days. Some of the African and Oceanian ones can be a bit challenging, but overall it's not that difficult. Just takes some practice.
I always struggle with St. Lucia for some reason, i get stuck there for 1 minute and then i magically remember. I remember at the beginning my Achilles' heel was Serbia for whatever reason...
Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel NOT Jerusalem... the ONLY country in the world that recognises this is the USA. With whats going on at the moment this is extremely offensive and needs to be changed.
"Tana" should become a standard accepted type-in for Antananarivo, everyone in Madagascar calls the city "Tana". It's like shortening Addis Ababa to "Addis" or how JP allows "Ouaga" for Ouagadougou
i told my tanzanian friend that tanzania(dodoma) was going to be my last capital memorized, sadly it was my third last, also, has anyone other than me noticed that tokyo is an anagram of kyoto, japans old capital?
Seconding this and looking forward to seeing it changed! I found this out from the Sweeper podcast, who have said that the new capital is the only capital with no top flight football teams!
I wrote "Malabo" several times, and I was wondering f it had a different spelling that I couldn't remember. IT was only at the end that "Ciudad de la Paz" appeared.
I had no idea that Equatorial Guinea had changed its capital. I suupose that it is easier now, as "La paz" can be used for this country and for Bolivia.
Anyway, thank you for having kept with the Change. Cheers!
Finaly done after like 20 attempts! Difficult challenge but worth learning all those capitals. In the end i was struggling to remember Maseru (Lesotho) and Gitega (Burundi).
There are great capital names i didn´t know like Tashkent, Mogadishu, South Tarawa and Addis Ababa.
Some capitals i struggled with were the capitals of Sri Lanka (by far), Brunei and Myanmar.
It can be done even for idiots like me, don´t give up!

It's two different spellings, two different cities, two different countries.
What's the point of robbing the victory from us?
Just leave it as a normal answer... which it is
Plus spell check appears if you type "yay" in the comments

A good idea for a JetPunk quiz...
