it depends on the type of music you listen to, i do not consider any of these songs much past the 80s songs to be awesome. not everyone listens to hip-hip/pop/rap/easy listening.
That's discounting 30 - 40 years of music. You should make more of an effort to find music you might enjoy from the more modern era. Modern music is not exemplified by pop music. And that's true of any era in music. Abba wasn't the be-all-end-all of music of their time. No one would claim that. There's plenty of really excellent musicians out there if you look for them, no matter what genres you enjoy.
Ummm... well I won't dispute his one hit wonder status, particularly outside Australia, despite two very successful and acclaimed albums, but wondering what the relevance is in a quiz that includes (spoiler alert) Afroman, Sisqo and Falco?
For "I Think We're Alone Now" I was trying to figure out how Tommy James and the Shondells could be written as one word. I thought Dion would be there from my era with "Abraham, Martin, and John".
I may be getting senile, but I swear I remember David Cassidy singing "I think we're alone now" on The Partridge Family. I searched youtube for it with no results.
More niche than a lot of stuff on here for sure, but still a great song. And I am contractually obligated as a Canadian to mention that he's from Toronto.
Sorry. Teenager in the 60s. Don't listen to current music altho I've heard of a lot of these songs. I should have just thrown out more one-names and hoped for the best. Still, I got 11 right.
Ciara is another single name singer who also has a song named "So What", that clue wasted a good minute of my time thinking I was spelling it wrong before I gave up!
I'm also only familiar with the older stuff... like a previous commenter, I was wondering how to write Tommy James as one word. I was also only aware of "Gangsta's Paradise" because of "Amish Paradise" by Al Yankovic. I'd be really impressed by anyone who got 100% on the first shot with this quiz.
There are literally hundreds that could qualify but there are some notable omissions...Beyonce, Lulu, Bjork, Aaliyah, Kesha, Bono, Dion, Enya, Liberace, Gotye, Yanni, Vangelis, etc etc.
2006-2013 - got them all.
1997-2004 - got ZERO
