Amazed that Mandela is the lowest on the list

I'll bet if "Apartheid" was thrown in, he'd be one of the highest on the list.

ANC or Robben Island should be a dead giveaway

Yep. I started typing "Mandela" as soon as I saw "Robben".

Yea robben island was very easy, the other two not indeed, but robben island is nearly as easy as apartheid.

Galileo, a seminal figure in bringing us into the modern world, is now lowest. But at least Michael Jackson is answered by 98%, so we have that comfort.

Yes, because Michael Jackson was a ubiquitous figure during the lifetime of most people taking this quiz, and Galileo lived 400 years ago.

Having seen the answers I still have no idea how they relate to Jay-Z but then I take no interest in celebrities/rappers or their lives.

If you wish to know, Blue Ivy is the name of his daughter, The Blueprint is the name of one of his albums, and Roc-a-Fella is the name of his record label.

I'll second that, Algernon.

The only one I knew was Blue Ivy from previous quizzes here, which I guess explains why celebrities give their children such "unusual" names - at least they are memorable.

I was so frustrated when Al Capone came up in the answers, until I realised that I'd been typing "Al Pacino" which is why I didn't get it.

Well, Stan Lee was definitely not in “Rear Window”.

Nor does he have a "famous silhouette."

A significant drop between the top 2 answers. 97% for the first then 78% for the next.

Lots of people are famous in many places, but in my travels, I have noticed that Michael Jackson's fame outstrips any performer's anywhere, even the Beatles (although they are also very well-known just about everywhere). Even acts we think of as "world famous" like Elvis, the Stones, Adele, Madonna, etc. pale in comparison to Jackson's fame.

I'm guessing it might depend on the age of the people you ask.

Michael Jackson's silhouette is the icon for this quiz. It's what lures many of the quiz takers to click through.
