I answered all of these by the last name. Strangely enough typing xiaoping didnt. I had to put deng to get it. Might explain the low score on that one.
It wouldn't accept just "Xiaoping", which I get considering Deng is his surname, but it for some reason accepted just "Yankee" for Daddy Yankee, even though that is not his real name.
Oh, no...not just you. I saw DS and disco singer and immediately typed Disco Stu. Then when I saw the part about having number one hits, I actually heard in Disco Stu's voice, "Disco Stu won't work for you!"
I still think Xiaoping should be an accepted answer, regardless of Chinese name configuration. All the other answers, you do not need to type in the "D" portion of the answer. This one should be no exception.
I think I tried typing velesquaz or something.. because I was about to comment that perhaps velasquez could be accepted as a type in. But I tried it (restarted the quiz) to be sure and it was accepted. So I think I mixed up the vowels or something. It didnt take my answers and I gave up, cause it was a hunch anyway..
Was anyone else unaware that there was a remake of War of the Worlds? I was going back decades in my mind, desperately trying to think who it could have been...
I spelled David Tennant wrong, yet still got the point. However, I wrote "Dweezel" with an "e" instead of an "i" and I didn't get the point. A little more consistency, please.
Dolly Parton has done so many notable things that she's well known for -- singer-songwriter of 'Jolene'; has a theme park named for her; has a literacy program that gives children books every month until they reach kindergarten; helped fund development of a COVID vaccine. Why objectify her by reducing her to her breasts? Could this clue be modified to be about something she has accomplished or done?
Not to be overly picky (but, as is tradition around here, I will be anyway), but shouldn't the clue for DT have "Doctor" be capitalized, since it's referring to a specific character's name?
