Same! I was a bit disappointed to learn that the Morse code only spelled out "UELWHI" and the last combination isn't even a real letter!

I don't know if QM's a music person or not, but that's not a very standard metronome.

Looks just like mine........ The macarons (we called them macaroons) don't look like the macaroons we used to have.

Macaroons and macarons are two separate and different treats.

MacarOOns are those lumpy coconut things, which I find a bit disgusting. MacarOns are light and airy sandwich confections of heavenly deliciousness, that come in every possible flavor you can imagine, and are manna from some awesome French version of heaven.

Are we not going to acknowledge the amazing implications that French people have a separate heaven?

Macaron is the french spelling of macaroon. These are from Paris.

Both are meringue based cookies (i.e. made with egg whites) but macaroons are made with coconut and macarons are made with almond flour. Totally different cookies in the end. Personally I much prefer macarons, since I hate sweetened coconut.

@kingoftunes no they are not, this is a macaroon macaroon and a ring shaped one made from coconut and usually on edible paper.

the one in this quiz is a macaron ( or a french macaroon to make it confusing)

I think you were thinking of the two types of merengue meringue..(making) that can be used for the macarons. (french and italian way)

So macaroon is not the same as macaron, and definitely not Macron

And meringue has two variations and is not the same as merengue..

Macron (the president) does not want to do the merengue (dance)

As an aside, why the faded 1972 Good Housewife magazine ad that barely shows any color to indicate what they are?

The majority of metronomes I've ever seen (quite a few, now that I think about it) look exactly like that one.

I think that "make up" should be accepted for "mascara", and "monster", "murderous" and "mean" for "matador".

I believe that is a picture of a meteor, not a meteoroid. A meteor is in the process of burning up in the atmosphere while a meteoroid is just floating in space. That one has a tail so it must be burning up.

Can't believe 80% got macaron. Never heard of them. The only thing I could think of for the photo was some type of fancy Moon Pie since Whoopie Pie doesn't start with M. :)

They are hugely popular all over Europe. Urban pastries should always be a bit pretentious!

I think mainly the uk. I hadnt even seen them here until a few years ago. And they are still quite rare. Small stores wont have them, bakeries yes and big stores sometimes.

Meringue though have been around as long as I can remember. But dont think you could call those exactly popular either.
