In 1950, Pakistan was the world's 13th largest country by population. Today it ranks fifth. Which countries did it pass to achieve its current position?
In 2022 Africa and Asia combined had 6 billion out of the ~8 billion people (75%) and by 2100 all contitnents will decrease in population apart from Africa, Oceania and North America.
Face palm on the one I missed. I did every single remotely decent sized country in Europe (and SA, Asia and Africa) apart from it. I completely blanked on it existing. Sigh, merde.
5 of them are in Europe + 1 more traditional old-age power (Japan). Wow, that is mind-blowing. Pakistan never passed countries like Mexico, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and others and was always bigger. I supposed Asian powers to be there.

Oh and Russia ... how did I almost miss Russia???
