I'm german and almost missed Germany, but that number is not right. It's east and west combined and those were two very different countries in 1980.

Oh and Russia ... how did I almost miss Russia???

5 of them are in Europe + 1 more traditional old-age power (Japan). Wow, that is mind-blowing. Pakistan never passed countries like Mexico, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and others and was always bigger. I supposed Asian powers to be there.
