In careful usage postnatal refers to the baby, after being born, while the mother, after giving birth, is referred to as postpartum. In casual usage postnatal may be used for both.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines 'postnatal' as 'relating to or denoting the period after childbirth' and 'post-partum' as 'following childbirth or the birth of young'.
I think that there synonyms of each other; 'postnatal' should probably be an accepted answer.
because no one thought it through before giving it that name. lol technically I guess it's because the "regular season" is the vast majority of the games, whereas the "Post season" or "Playoffs" is a tournament that happens right after the "season" is over to determine the winner. In essence, the only thing that happens during the "season" is they decide who gets to play in the playoffs
Correct. Nothing that happens during the regular season has any effect on the postseason, aside from which teams are initially matched up. They start with a clean slate in terms of record.
I think that one threw me because it isn't pronounced as "post". I missed postulate for the same reason, I think, although I did get posthumous so maybe that theory doesn't work so well after all.
the clue for "posterity" should read "for future generations." having it just say "future generations" really doesn't refer to anything and is way too broad.
