Hey, you might want to update the 'Leading World Cup Goalscorer' question as it is now not true, considering that Miroslav Klose surpassed it at this year's World Cup. Thanks
Have spent the majority of my time the past seven years in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, also considerable time in Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Israel, Turkey... never saw anybody refer to Ramzan..
True! 'Ramzan' is a faster pronunciation in Turkish, and a fair transliteration of Ramazan, and is used widely outside the Arab states (which combined only make up ~23% of all Muslims worldwide). Ramazan it is.
I am surprised that someone has not already tried to show off by pointing out that Ringo's given first name is Richard and requested that be accepted. (Wait! I guess it's me.)
can't buy into this...His last name is also Starkey. It asks for first name for Starr. He is either Richard Starkey or Ringo Starr, but never Richard Starr
You are correct, but if you accept my comment without the jocular parenthetical ending you will note that I was actually intending to mock the suggestion that Richard be accepted.
Eight or so years later, this demands a nitpicky response!
While what you're saying is true, the way it's clued at least at the moment, Richard actually should be accepted. It's not asking to complete the name (e.g. "___ Starr"), it's asking for the first name of the person who is (Ringo) Starr, and Richard (as well as Ringo) is that person's first name. So Richard actually should be accepted.
But I agree I tried Rhein first and think it should be accepted. As the general custom is to accept the answer in the native tongue of whatever country the question is about.
Yeah, well, I was thinking that Rue McLanahan could use the herb rue in her cooking, right? (Tricky, since rue is also the answer to another question on the quiz.)
In American English "herb" starts with a silent "h," so it is completely correct to precede it with "an." And even for those who do pronounce the "h," "an herb" was considered correct usage until roughly the mid-1800s, so it's now viewed as very old-fashioned (and thus rather pretentious.)

:/
(Atleast you can write necessarily right, it is my nemesis...)
