theres a big project called the forests of lilengo. not sure i spelled that right, but the point is, they're beating back the sahara desert by planting forests. They've reversed desertification there, and restored miles of habitats for animals that were getting rare.
Maybe people just notice those more because they are less used to them, so they stand out more than others to us. Because of that, our brains pay more attention to them, and less to the ones we know, making it seem as if there are more of the ones we are unsure about such as the African and Oceanian ones.
I haven't noticed this, but, there are a ton of countries in Africa. It would make sense if they saw slightly more representation than some other continents.
54 is a bigger number than 45. It's also a bigger number than 48 (the number of countries in Asia), 23 (North America), 12 (South America), or 14 (Oceania). Identifying Europe as the "smallest" continent is quite misleading as it's actually near the top in terms of the number of countries it has. My statement stands. Africa has a ton of countries. Much more than any other continent, and more than 4x as many as some.
I got no Oceania and the only one in Africa was where it should say Abidjan but now says Yes Master or something. A lot of easy to read Anglicized names. You know all these countries are pulling the wool over our eyes with these "phonetic" spellings.
For example, the Chinese city of Luòshānjī. Whoops, that's how they say Los Angeles. So instead of Chongqing, why can't we just say Chungking again? They wouldn't understand either way we pronounce it under either spelling anyway.
Loseu Aenjelleseu is what they say in Korea, so why can't we stick to Pusan? It had name recognition, history and reputation. Nah, they had to chuck it away and throw a B in there because why?
I doubt it. But maybe it's just because doing something like that wouldn't occur to me. Why would anyone care what the faceless anonymous visitors to jetpunk would think about their performance on a quiz?
Timewise, I guess it also depends whether you get countries like Togo, Mali,Cuba and Peru, or rather Liechtenstein, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia and Equatorial Guinea.
We had an earthquake assessment at school and we had to revise on Haiti's earthquake. So proud I managed to remember Port-au-Prince is Haiti's capital!! however in total I only got 14/20 ;-;
I would like to see the following new quiz: Top 20 Whiners. Many of them can be found right here commenting on this cool random capital quiz. You know who you are.
Enter 'Mal's' in the search box and there are a couple of difficult quizzes regarding Africa , one is ............ Mal's African Closest Capitals Hopscotch
Enjoy doing random quizzes think they're the best way to test your knowledge. But 18 out of the 20 were African, I know all the continents capitals really well, but Africa I only know about 15. Quiz has exploited my flaws!
Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte and New Delhi are annoying. These are suburbs of the main city. Its like saying Capital Hill is the capital of the USA, or Westminster is the capital of the UK because that is the suburb where the parliamentary building is.
2.48 left for me. Like this quiz and that the questions change each time. As for people comparing times, bit pointless as people are probably doing different capitals, with different typing speeds, and possibly different internet speeds. I used to know the capitals when I was a kid but that was 40yr ago and several of the names of the capitals have changed and sometimes that of the country too!
Suggestion for the QM, would it be OK to include an abbreviation for United Arab Emirates? UAE would be much quicker and easier for some less learned users. You could also just accept "Emirates" too.
I've typed in Mozambique for Maputo and Sri Lanka for Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte and neither were accepted! What's the point if CORRECT answers are being ignored?
I was stuck on victoria for about a minute of that last 2 seconds I thought SEYCHELLES then typed as quick as I could and didnt get the last S, I am annoyed this wouldve gotten my badge
Knew Port Vila was the capital of am Oceanian capital so just guessed random countries in Oceania and got it. Same with Saint John's for the Caribbean.
Random Capital to Country quizzes (a favourite) no longer show the capitals, it appears as a blank grid! Makes it pretty hard, I did try once, sadly got 0%! Not sure if its my computer or the quiz generator.
I got Gitega, which was like "wut" at first, cause I was sure I knew every capital city of every country. Then I just ended the quiz cause I didn't know what it was. Then it said Burundi, and I thought maybe Burundi just recently changed it from Bujumbura to Gitega? But no, just a second capital.
I read that the Burundi government wanted to move the capital from Bujumbura to Gitega to have a more centrally located capital city. I'm not 100% sure if that is correct though.
Excellent! Got them all with 2:20 remaining at 11:00:21 AM on April 13, 2019. Now I am up to 1152 points! I ended up with a lot of smaller countries as the answers, though since I have lately been memorizing capitals, this quiz wasn't so bad. The capitals I was given were Bern, Madrid, Porto-Novo/Cotonou, Bishkek, Vaduz, Juba, Prague, Maputo, Cairo, Lima, Riyadh, London, Panama City, Harare, New Delhi, Luanda, Monrovia, Tokyo, Mbabane, and Dakar. Good job to ayone who can pass this quiz. The random geography quizzes require one to know countries and capitals thoroughly and completely, for any circumstance.
hey geography list test "experts" AVERAGE SCORE HERE IS 12 of 20 , first time 20 of 20 for me , proof you are bragging after taking your list tests 10 times and scoring high , cannot do that here because you have to actually know something and it changes proof you are lying about your knowledge levels on thos other test you claim to know so much on
Sorry if I'm repeating anyone, but I wonder if people who get Kingstown struggled with it, since on other quizzes you simply get it for knowing the capital of Jamaica.
Love this quiz for the changing questions. I've mastered the countries and capital cities quizzes but admit that some of the capitals I only know because I've memorized where they fall in the list. This quiz forces me to learn what country has what capital. I do it several times a day. It's getting easier and easier.
How I did I end up getting kuwait, saotome, el Salvador, algeria, guinea bissau and Luxembourg at the same attempt? All have the answer in the question itself 😂
46 seconds wow I was not expecting to get them all, I got lucky that 18 of them I already knew and then a couple I made educated guesses for. Progress towards Random Geography badge let's go
