Great quiz! love seinfeld. The pretzels are making me thirsty quote was said by everyone. I know it was kramers line for the movie, but I always remember george saying it because of how intense he is when he says it.
I'm a big Seinfeld fan. Sometimes it gets stuck in my DVD player and I have to pry it out with a screwdriver. My favourite out of this collection is "Maybe the dingo ate your baby", possibly because I'm Australian. I was very disappointed to get only 17. Jimmy doesn't like disappointments. I'll have to retire to my log cabin and put the balm on my pride.
I don't have a ______ to spare was originally said by Jerry's girlfriend, Jane, TO Elaine. Elaine repeats the line to Jane at the end of the episode, but it was Jane's line.
My comment didn't say, or even imply, that Elaine never said the line. In fact, I acknowledge that she said it. I was just pointing out Jane said it first (and most memorably, in my opinion). Apparently you've surpassed George as the all time best seller! ;)
Haven't seen a rerun in ages, but every quote immediately put a picture in my mind! And, thank you Frank, for giving me SOMEthing to celebrate in December!
All four said "These pretzels are makin' me thirsty", but Kramer did say it first. If the "Who Said It" is going to be who said it first, then it shouldn't be Elaine for "I don't have a square to spare". She only said it in retaliation after Jane said it to her.
I really never took to Seinfeld. When they took it off network TV and let Larry David play "himself" on Curb Your Enthusiasm it really played out much better. Super Dave as Funkhouser was a far better foil than Kramer acting like a 1958 Jerry Lewis.
Seinfeld also prominently says, "I don't want to be a cowboy" in the exact same whiny way. Might be an homage to the original line, but I always thought they were equals.
You should add "Jerry! Hello!" from Uncle Leo, and something from Peterman. He has so many good lines, and especially on this site, "It'll always be Burma to me" would be especially fitting.
My family plays a fair amount of Trivial Pursuit, and we trot this phrase out any time someone wants to quibble with the answer on the card.
