Can you please consider adding Dr. Crick for the Dr. Watson clue?
+2
Level 73
Oct 9, 2013
Crick wasn't really Watson's sidekick though, more like his partner.

Was disappointed, though not overly surprised, when Kemosabe didn't work.

Hahn Solo not accepted. :(

After that I just started putting in random other characters. I never thought it was Han.

there is a comic strip called "Goose and Grimm" Maybe Goose is considered the primary and Grimm, the sidekick.

I tried this before Maverick.

Ugh. My freaking nickname in high school was Maverick, but when I read Goose it just didn't register in my head. I'm so disappointed in myself.

A lot has been said about this site being visited mostly by Americans. If it is true, I am all the more pleased that 70% of people know Wallace and Gromit (even though, in my humble opinion, it is debatable who is whose sidekick) (:

And the very next question was Dilbert and Dogbert which made me think the exact same thing!

I'm American and a huge fan of Wallace and Gromit. They are brilliant!

I'm an American who grew up with wallace and gromit. I faintly remember one movie about gromit turning into a monster or something, but the film I remember the most is the one in which they go to the moon and it is made of cheese.

I feel like some of these pairs, specifically Sam and Frodo and Simon and Garfunkel, are equals, without one being the "sidekick" of the other.

Faramir: "Your bodyguard?" Sam: "His gardener."
+2
Level 47
Aug 31, 2016
Frodo bears the weight of the ring, Sam assists. Simon writes and sings the songs, Garfunkel sings harmony. Seems like clear cut examples of sidekicks to me.

Was really hoping to see two more - Rusty and Jingles...

Level 67
Mar 30, 2016
The fact that Simon has had a much more impressive and lasting career does not mean Garfunkel was the sidekick. He was not the sidekick. He was the singer.

This!

Simon was the writer and lead singer, Garfunkel sings harmony. Being a real life sidekick is a hard pill to swallow.

maybe it's the last name that throwing them off. Personally I don't think I would have been able to tell you Willow's last name, and my first thought when I saw Rosenberg was that couple in the fifties that were spies for Russia
