Actually, I looked into that. The closest thing I found was "Thanks for the Memory" by Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and a few other hardly known artists. If there is a song titled "Thanks for the Memories", it's so obscure that it's not even worth mentioning, as the popularity of "Thnks fr th Mmrs" would absolutely dwarf it.
Yeah, I worded that kinda poorly. I meant it as "a few other artists who, unlike the other two, aren't very well known at all". I see where the confusion came from.
Ahhh, the ever present inexperience of youth. I don't think that this new song with a similar title to a older song would actually "dwarf" the popularity of the older song depending on the group surveyed. Bob Hope may have faded from the collective memory of the young, but he is still held in high regard by many in the older generations - not so much for his voice, but rather for his willingness to use that voice to help make things better for others. In about 50 or 60 years, let's see how well this new version and the Boy Band who sings it are remembered.
They're not saying the Fall Out Boy song's popularity dwarfs that of the Bob Hope song, just that if there are any songs of the exact title "Thanks for the Memories," they're not nearly as well-known as the song by Fall Out Boy. The Bob Hope song is "Thanks for the Memory," so it's not included in that statement.
2. Take a step back for a moment and consider doing something more productive with your life than denigrating random JetPunk users just to make yourself feel superior merely for (allegedly) being from an earlier generation. Besides, you're not exactly making yourself look any "more experienced" by arguing against points that aren't being made.
Lots of fun - one of those quizzes where you have to ponder about things a bit and use a bit of lateral thinking to come up with a possible answer, rather than just regurgitating facts. I'm guessing that means one or more people probably put quite a lot of work into it. Thank you.
I Predict a Riot, I Have a Dream, Counting Stars, Can't Feel My Face, Thrift Shop...all total guesses based on the clues, but I got 'em. Otherwise, never heard of them.
Technically the song title in Thnks fr th mmrs. I'm fine with the displayed answer staying as thanks for the memories as that's what you would expect it to be if you didn't know the song but the original title should be accepted as well.
Nothing is being shone on to a crazy diamond. The song is saying "Shine On" and directing that statement at Syd Barrett, whom is being referred to as a "Crazy Diamond".
I'm not sure whether "crazy" is a synonym of "odd". I was getting stuck on the modern pop country song, "People Are Crazy" by Billy Currington. Completely forgot about The Doors

might be more fun to substitute 'hip' for 'pelvis' or similar?
Also leaving "Can't" as is seems a bit lazy to me. Could be replaced with en equivalent, like "impossible", for example
Thanks
