I DID TYPE "DISTANCE!"

Why did it not give me credit?

Nothing worse than a poorly constructed quiz.

A common misconception is that they are spiders. They are in the archnid family like spiders, (and scorpions and ticks etc) but in no way related to spiders (likely related to mites). They have a different physiology, a single body instead of a separate head and abdomen, no venom, no webmaking ability (no silk glands) and the eye arrangement is very different. Plus they don't need to liquefy their food (and are omnivores).

There is a third species besides the harvestman and cranefly (haywagon/cart and longleg(ged) mosquito in my language) that is also often called daddy longlegs, the cellar spider.
