Interesting how Vladivostok is the least guessed answer overall when it is the second southernmost city for that question (the first being Hobart, obviously), and about the same latitude as Florence, Italy. I guess people assume that anything in Russia is far north, but that's not really the case. You can even find palm trees in Sochi!
I always see questions about the Olympics and do poorly on them. Do people memorise Olympic cities or something? Honestly, I don't think I've ever watched it.
Only missed Ulaanbaatar. All the other questions had 5 selected, and I thought that question would also have 5 selected, and I knew it is really cold there, so I went for it.
Tel Aviv is an interesting one. Although the city was officially founded in the early 1900s, the municipality annexed the ancient port of Jaffa in 1950 and was formally renamed Tel Aviv-Jaffa (Tel Aviv-Yafo in Hebrew).
I got it right but do understand that the quiz would have a different answer if the city in question was Jaffa, not Tel-Aviv. Once the apartheid regime falls and the name of the city is changed back to Jaffa, this quiz may need to be edited.
In fact, I chose cities that were clearly above or below so there would be none which were ABOUT 1000 meters.
