I would say most people know it by Johnny Cash now. It was a much bigger hit for him than it was NIN. Even Trent Reznor said it was no longer his song, it was Johnny Cash's song.
there's no way I would not have gotten it. And it will always be a NIN song, though Trent has said complimentary things about the cover, aarnold's paraphrase isn't exactly right.
I've now gone through all of these and in all comment sections I see "I'm happy I didn't get some of these" or "I'm ashamed I knew these songs". I don't get that. No, not all of these songs are good, but if you have listened to (or overheard) the radio at all in the last year or whatever and have a decent memory, you'll remember them. That's kind of how they're designed.
Why? I had no idea about the Amazing Grace clue. Nor did I know the "my humps" clue. I also think 'Sweet Caroline' is one of the most over played cheesy, and mildly irritating, songs of all time. But, isn't that what music is about, personal preferences? Some songs you may think are fantatsic other people can't stand and vice versa.
Well there's the fact that you could probably guess whatever the word is it will rhyme with "lumps" so you may be able to just guess your way into that one
I was utterly surprised aswell, I think it is one of the songs I ve heard the most in my life. Though twinkle twinkle has the record for most days in succesion ( my neighbour's, well 1 further, little boy used to play it (some toy I believe) basicly all through the day all summer. Which resulted in me humming it nonstop too haha.
I guess you might not hear it much if you always stay home or only go to techno parties. But if you go to any place with folk music you are bound to hear it a lot. (on an outdoor festival with bands I once heard it performed more than 6 times the same day..)
The it’s my party one. It’s called pity party. The line that has pity party is “I’ll cry until the candles burn down this place/I’ll cry until my Pity Party’s in FLAMES🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 XD”
"I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real"
