Delaware is surprising. Wilmington itself inside the cramped city limits isn't much except a welfare destination, the beaches for the DC & Maryland crowd in the summer, but not much there year round. The state really hasn't exploded with growth like Arizona and Nevada.

As the description says, it can be either or both people moving in or moving out. Being very small it's quite common I guess that you don't stay in Delaware your whole life.

I would also imagine that a lot of Delawareans (?) are born in Philadelphia since the northern half of the state is basically a suburb of Philadelphia.

Am Delawarean, and I think you're right. I myself live in the southern part of the state and was born in Maryland, as were many of my family and friends.

Who moves to Wyoming for any reason?! I realize their population is small so it doesn't take a ton of people to equal a high percentage, but still...

The high percent is probably due to native Wyoming-ers(?) are moving out of the state.

"Wyomingite", I believe.

Missed Wyoming again...and still shocked when I saw it. It must be the mining industry. If people wanted nature and space, I have to think they'd pick Montana, Idaho, or a handful of other states over Wyoming. Oh well...

Did okay, but don't spot much of a pattern

I misread this as states with the highest percent born in-state and was confused about why I was doing SO badly… and this is why you don’t take quizzes while half-asleep.
