I'd heard the word before but I don't think I looked it up until I heard Rorschach say: "Beneath me, this awful city, it screams like an abattoir full of retarded children." Good word.
Technically, the name for espresso and steamed milk would be 'caffè latte'. Just 'latte' by itself would mean milk [in Italian]. 'Latte' is an accepted shortening of the name in a lot of places...but if you were to order one by that shortened name in Italy, you might just wind up with a glass of milk. :)
So, the only one I didn't get was 'mutt'. A dog doesn't have to be mixed breed to be a 'mutt', as this is just a slang (derogatory) term for any dog (admittedly 'often' a mixed breed one - I was interested to see that in the dictionary!). But mongrel is the more accurate term for a mixed breed and is the word I have always used. If the clue just said 'a dog' this would arguably be more accurate.
But maybe it's just me and the way I've always used these words.
As an aside, neither 'mutt' nor 'mongrel', with their negative connotations, seem appropriate terms for the current popular cross breeds like Labradoodles...
