The difference is that condiment is not a hard word to spell. Most quizzes accept variations on spelling for words that are unusual or difficult to spell. Condiment is not one of those words.

Please don't blame dyslexia for not being able to spell condiment. Learning disabilities are hard, I have several myself, but it's almost always the curriculum and the avenue toward completing work accurately that's accommodated. Accuracy is still important.

You should exept sauces for condiments.

I tried sauce aswell, but remembered (maybe from somewhere on the site?) That americans have a seperate word for it. So I got it, and spelled it right ;) but still don't know why there is a seperate word and which sauces it applies to (same goes for relish, we don't use that either) is pesto a sauce, relish or condiment? How about worchester sauce? And barbecuesauce?

According to Wikipedia: "Cilantro is the Spanish word for coriander, also deriving from coriandrum. It is the common term in North American English for coriander leaves, due to their extensive use in Mexican cuisine." I think technically speaking coriander is the proper name for the plant as a whole everywhere (Coriandrum sativum is its scientific designation), but in casual usage in North America cilantro is used for the leaves. Usage in Australia tends towards coriander without qualification meaning the leaves. When one is talking about any other part of the plant one specifies (Coriander seed, coriander root). As a result herb definitely comes to mind for me (an Australian) before spice when just the word coriander is used, but I certainly think the ground seed is a spice and the clue is just fine as is.

In Australia, coriander means the herb (leaves). Coriander seed is the spice.

In the U.S. pudding and custard are distinct as custard is thickened with cooked egg yolks and pudding with cornstarch.

Actually thinking about it, we do have wild oats (wilde haver) but it just looked odd to me haha. Eventhough in both language the word wild is used, when you read it in another language, you translate it, while in your own language you often forget the original meaning of (part of) a word.
