It is not possible to drive to Juneau, unless you count driving your car onto a ferry elsewhere first. There's only a couple of roads out of town, and they all end abruptly with no option but to turn around and go back the way you came.
Juneau is surrounded by mountains with no car access, so even though you can get to Alaska by car from the continental US, you can't get to Juneau without putting your car on a boat.
One would think it should be most undrivable; possibly because there are no roads or possibly because you would have to leave the country and go through Canada even if there were.
Honolulu's status as a consolidated city-county which administers the entire island makes this somewhat debatable but I think it is clear enough that it just means that it is not connected to the rest of the country by road regardless
Wow, pretty much the only state capitals I knew were for Hawaii, Alaska, California, New Mexico, Texas, New York and Massachusetts, so that gave me 14/20 right there!
I'm American and missed two, but sadly I only know the names of three cities in New Zealand - Aukland, Wellington, and Christchurch, so you are better than me by far. (Do you have the equivalent of states there?)
Sad that none of the capitals of any of the states I've lived in made it. Oh well. Guess they're all too ordinary. Came darn close on most populous, though!
Juneau gets a lot of rain at sea level due to the "warm" ocean. However, the mountains around it get so much snow that glaciers hang all over them. Juneau almost certainly wins in the "most likely to get hit by an avalanche" category. Chutes wipe out trees all the way down to the sea.
you can go to alaska or hawaii by car, just go through or canada, or in alaska drive to juneau, and the capital in hawaii you can drive to there isn't a giant roadblock, be more specific. Have it say not reachable from the mainland.
This was interesting though- despite Juneau or Honolulu being the answer for 7/20 of them (plus both for 2 of them)
1. That's not a superlative.
2. You most certainly can drive to Juneau from the mainland US.
3. Honolulu is definitely accessible by car from any other city on the island of Oahu. Google Maps say it's over an hour from Kawela Bay.
I didn't know it snows less in Juneau than in Montpelier!!!
