Lol that's a bit detached from reality. Regardless of whether you like or chose to recognize them, these men were/are presidents at one point. I don't like Trump but I don't deny the fact that he was president. Like what's the point of that?
If the truth be told, with very few exceptions (Jefferson, Grant, Lincoln, FDR, Teddy Roosevelt... even JFK if his photos weren't
so widely published) and obviously Obama, most of these photos are interchangeable. We may know of their accomplishments and/or scandals before, during or after their terms in office, but there is very little difference in their appearances.
For sure. They're nearly all white men between age 45 and 65, and they're from the white-collar sector of society, so it's really about using context clues to pin down the era of the picture (e.g., photo or painting? Color or black & white? What kind of tie and collar combination? Facial hair?) I recognize probably 32 presidents without any help, but for the others (Garfield, Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, Pierce, Tyler...), I just narrow it down to time period and eliminate the ones I could recognize on my own. Works fairly well. I got 42 right.
Well...I got 19.I think it's not bad for a European! But I accidently guessed Millard Fillmore, who's apperently the least guessed one of all. Well done me :D
Name all the presidents in order. I can do that. Name them by picture I can only muster a little over 50%. I even had a puzzle with their pictures on it growing up.
They hardly look identical, but that aside there have only been 5 presidents in US history who sported beards. And every one of them was president sometime between 1861 and 1893. It was the fashion of the day. Both before and after there are none. Only one with so much as a moustache.
44/45. Missed Harding. The painting threw me off on the time period and for whatever reason, I only know how he looks from the one photo where he has his hand at the side of his face.
For those wondering why there are 45 answers instead of 46 (as of 2023). Grover Cleveland’s non-consecutive terms are counted as two different presidents but obviously we only require one portrait for him.
As an American I'm ashamed I only got 28, and realistically only like 25 since I just went through what was left and guessed Harrison and Taylor since I knew the names but not faces. I feel really dumb for not getting Ford or Madison.
I've taken this test before and returned to see if I still recognized the people. Is there a particular reason you changed half of the pictures from their official portraits to random photos?
so widely published) and obviously Obama, most of these photos are interchangeable. We may know of their accomplishments and/or scandals before, during or after their terms in office, but there is very little difference in their appearances.
I could have done better....
