I actually like this sudden change of from capitals to non-capitals halfway through. Makes sure you’re on your toes! And on a phone you don’t have the Quiz title in view so it’s not necessarily staring you in the face that the word ‘capital’ isn’t there.
the fact that these are all six-letter cities surely deserves to be in the quiz title, or at least the description? or else include cities of different length names as well
Good quiz, but there are no cities in Africa and only one in the Americas outside the US. You could have included Harare, Durban, Bamako, Luanda, Lusaka, Douala, Havana, Puebla or Ottawa, to name but a few.
Another whatever city i'm very lazy to describe. Boston and dallas are understandable, they're very famous US cities. But tucson? Only US people know this town
Not only is Tucson neither the capital nor the most populous city of a nation, it is also neither the capital nor most populous city of a first-level subdivision. I'm not really sure its place on this quiz is merited. That being said, I didn't only miss Tucson, I also missed Taipei, although those are the only two I missed.
Actually, I just checked, and Tucson is the *only* city of all these on this quiz that is none of the above as I just mentioned, except for Dallas which does fit all of the above criteria but is nevertheless the most populous *metro* area of a first-level subdivision and is the 4th-most-populous metro area of the 3rd most-populous country in the world. There is no comparison, really.
That being said, yes, perhaps my first effort on this wasn't quite a 5-star effort, as I didn't get Taipei. But Tucson being on here is kind of prejudicial against anybody who isn't from the USA/Canada. Its presence on this quiz is misplaced.
I'll never understand the people who take a quiz, learn something, and then complain about it. Why else are you here?
Please feel free to make a different quiz which doesn't include Tucson, if you like. But since the title of this quiz is "Word Scramble - Cities" and not "Word Scramble - Capitals or Most Populous Cities of a Nation or Capital or Most Populous Cities of a First-Level Subdivision and Also Dallas", your complaint about the breach of a rule that you made up seems a bit odd.
Tucson is a city, and therefore its 'presence on this quiz' is entirely justified (again, please see the title of the quiz if you disagree). Congratulations on learning something today!
It's just a bit shortsighted from Quizmaster. If you put your own hometown on the quiz which 99.9% of people don't know and has no cultural or historical reference, why learn about it?
