Yeah, I'd argue for the inclusion of alternate romanizations of the character 元, especially as it's pronunciation varies across dialects (Mandarin is 'yuan,' Cantonese is 'man' (like the "mon" in money)). However, Yen is the Japanese pronunciation for that symbol, but it's a different currency, so accepting that one could be problematic...
If some the poses involve laying your hands flat on the ground while your legs remain straight, that's going to involve stretching. To the degree you can't discount the spiritual and meditative aspects of yoga, you can't deny the physical ones as well. It's body and mind.
Yoga is a way of life involving many practices the aim of which is achieving a spiritual state. What the west knows as yoga is one aspect, called asanas, which are a preliminary to meditation.
Weird... I've never been to Yellowstone, but I thought of that one right away. I've actually been to Yosemite, but it took me like 45 seconds to remember it.
Who the heck is Yanni? That question is bs, never heard of it in my life and neither does anyone I know. If it were supposedly so popular I'd think I could find one high schooler that knows who that is, but that is not so.
I'd never heard of him either. Nor have I heard of Linda Evans. American acts that didn't make it across the pond, or if they did it was quite a while ago, I assume?
Never heard of him either. So perhaps was only popular during a certain time and or place.
(During a certain time might not be the correct way to say it in English. But just woke up and can't think of a proper sentence. Time period sounds to historic so does age, during certain years? Anyway you probably know what I mean :) )
What's so great about Beethoven? Everyone talks about how great Beethoven was. Beethoven wasn't so great. How can you say someone is great who's never had his picture on a bubble gum card?
I'd never heard of Yanni either, and it's the only one I got wrong, but that doesn't make the question "bs", it makes it an opportunity to learn. I'm sure there's lots of pages with much easier quizzes where I'd get 100% right every time, but what would be the point in that?
I was referring to the thing on the internet where people listen to a clip and some heard the word pronounced as yanni while others heard it as laurel. (Both my husband and I only heard yanni, but I think the majority heard it as laurel.)
And selling 25 million albums, being nominated for two Grammys, and having given a concert that was shown on 130 US stations and has been seen by half a billion people worldwide.
half a billion?? there are only 7.7 billion people on the entire planet, and that was 5.3 in 1990. So I assume not at the same time... cause that would be quite impossible ( if you discount all the people that do not own a tv (which are more than you think, think about poor areas, even though there are families with 4 tv's nowadays...), are asleep or at work, that doesnt leave a lot of people)
Yanni, as I learned just this week, actually disavows the label "new age" to describe his music. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't get to choose labels others ascribe to him. Were he to have his druthers, though, "new age" would not be among those labels.
Just had to speak up for my man Yanni. Beautiful music. It's a shame so many of you apparently aren't familiar with him. Go listen to "In the Mirror" and you'll get a sense of his brilliance.

Less actually. It was 3.7 in 1970 and we are now at 7.7 ... (it was half of 2015/2016 when we were at 7.38/7.47)
1 billion 1804
2 billion 1930
3 billion 1960
4 billion 1974
5 billion 1987
6 billion 1999
7 billion 2011
10 billion estimated 2055
scary data...
