The NBA honored its 75th anniversary by naming the top 75 players of all time, except they put 76 players on the list. What an embarrassingly stupid decision by the NBA. I know it doesn't have real-world significance, but come on guys, be better. The whole reason they made this "75th Anniversary Team" was themed around the number 75. You had one job! And you actively chose to get the number wrong! As a fan of basketball and common sense, this infuriates me.
Since the list isn't ranked, we don't even know who tied for 75th. I sympathize with your position. Which leads to an interesting debate: who should be dropped from this list to make it 75?
And I think Lillard should be the one that is removed. His biggest accomplishment as of now is being a 6 time all star. He needs 3 or 4 more to make this list assuming he doesn't win a ring or MVP
Too many active players that haven't played enough to be on such a list. Even though I love Giannis and definitely think he will be in the top 20 when he retires, he hasn't done enough to be on such a list right now. I feel the same way about Davis, Leonard and Lillard. If they had Derrick Rose type injuries tomorrow they wouldn't be on the top 100 list in 25 years. Harden and Curry probably have met the threshold to be included. Sharman, Miller, Cunnigham, Bing and Allen have no business being on this list ahead of Artis Gilmore, Adrian Dantley, Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady... Rant over.
I think Leonard and Giannis probably deserved to make it just not over some of the people that didn’t, they should have just redone the list completely. Also while McGrady was of course amazing I think the two I mentioned have already cemented themselves to have overall better resumes then T-Mac.
Dwight not being included is embarrassing to the point that Dame Lillard actually agreed that Dwight deserved it, but that he's not the one who makes the list.
