Hell's Canyon is the deepest canyon in the USA, but not in the world. The deepest canyon on land is Cotahuasi Canyon formed by the Rio Cotahuasi in Peru, but the deepest canyon on the planet is the Mariana Trench below the Pacific Ocean.

OK let me specify a few things. Grand Canyon is the largest canyon. Not deepest. Dead Sea is the lowest point NOT below an ocean.
