Argentina - Río de la Plata. ROFL what's the connection between those two.

Argentina's name is derived from the Latin "argentum" for silver.

"Plata" means silver in Spanish.

Just because they are both named after silver it doesn't mean Argentina is named after the Rio de la Plata
