Imagine if the entire continent of Africa had a president and held elections like the United States. So it’s Election Day in Africa and you are representing the Turquoise party. Name any African country to grab its “electoral votes” and get 270 to defeat the Maroon party!
Nice! To make this quiz more realistic, you could turn it into an "African Union Chairman" election. Basically the African Union is an alliance between the countries of Africa (excluding Morocco), and the chairperson is the leader of this organization ;)
288 here. After the first fail, I just memorized the top 12 countries and guessed them along with the inevitable Niger and the two Congos. That's the minimum number I could think of.
Cool quiz! One minor problem is that you can't type in Africa's most populous country, Nigeria, without first completing "Niger", so you have to waste a precious second or two typing in both countries in order to get the most populous state.
Not sure if there is an a satisfactory solution though. You could add "Niger" as a type in for Nigeria, but I know that goes against the norm for geographic quizzes on Jetpunk.
I felt that at first. But Niger is 11 electoral votes, so that's not bad. In the US that's like typing in Tennessee, Massachusetts, Indiana, or Arizona. When you are trying to get California. Thats 61 electoral votes out of 270. Meaning you need 210 after them two. Also, I do know California is going to be 49 electoral votes soon. Talking as of last election.
Tip - Get Central African Republic! All you need to type is ‘car’ for 5 points. Also, it appears at least 11% of people don’t know you can just type ‘congo’ for both Republic of the Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Just flip a coin. It will be much fairer and faster than whatever crap-storm will ensue if US politics were to be emulated exactly here. CGP Grey made a nice video about that (https://youtu.be/sHEDXzOfENI).
And you need to guess the Countries, the most that you can. For then, you win the election.
