Got 86, missed out some obvious ones like Essen. Not sure about Valencia though, some sources seem to indicate the Spanish city’s metro population is greater
Except that it isn't obvious. There aren't 7.31 million people in Essen; there are 582,760. GeoPhilia is assigning the entire population of the Ruhr Area to Essen, which might be justified if Essen was the largest city in the area, but it isn't; Dortmund is. The only reason to guess Essen for that dot is because Dortmund and Cologne don't work.
Amazing quiz! There seems to be some minor problems with the dots. As far as I can see, there was no dot for Valencia (at least not in Spain). Nice quiz, though, got a nomination from here!
Fun quiz. I started off guessing straight off the map, but then referred to the letters to prompt me on the ones I was missing. Even as someone who has travelled extensively in China and has a degree in its history, I struggled with some of those. It is the perfect storm of having many, many large cities and a great many of those starting with letters which are rare elsewhere in the world.
I think the time is enough, as considering Countries of the World quiz, you are supposed to type 196 answers in 15 minutes, that is approximately 13 answers per minute. But with current time, you only have to type 10.8 answers per minute in this quiz.
I was thinking the same thing but apparently, Shenzhen is a larger region including Guangzhou which was in the quiz. It was, however, missing Ankara the capital of Turkey
Maybe it’s just my tired, old eyes but I have trouble distinguishing between the dark-purple dots for the “O” cities and the dark-blue dots for the “V” cities. (Of course, if I knew the answers that wouldn’t have been an issue!)
I was frustrated with myself for not being able to do better, then I looked at the answers, saw stuff like "Vishakhapatnam" and "Zhangjiakou", and realized there was no reason to be frustrated.
