Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. The city on the river Vistula is a major cultural and economic hub and one of the biggest cities in the EU. Much of the historic city was destroyed during World War II and the population decimated by the Ghetto uprising and the Warsaw Uprising. Today the reconstructed Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest tower of the EU, Varso Tower, is currently under construction.
