Pretty funny to see that Iceland is one of these while it is also the country in the world where the average age of virginity loss is the lowest. Also, Vatican City doesn't ban pornography, that says many things.
masaza is wrong, King Eureka is more wrong, porn addiction and sex addiction are not a real thing. Sexual release is just something that floods the body with feel-good chemicals. That makes it something that people often use to self-medicate for some other unaddressed problem. But it's not actually addictive. And wanting to have sex just means that you are healthy, not addicted. Inside these very backward countries, where sexuality is shamed and repressed, that produces far more damaged individuals where sexuality is openly accepted and treated as something positive (which is nowhere right now, but, some countries are better than others).
Addiction to pornography is real. Many people suffer from an uncontrollable compulsion to view it, in order to stimulate their body to release those "feel-good" chemicals.
Nevertheless this is not the only reason to ban pornography.
It is more than often, extremely misogynistic, and with children have totally unrestricted access to it, it cultivates very, very harmful values in them. Not to mention the very high amount of human trafficking, human and child exploitation that is rampant in pornography.
Actually porn does change the way men look at women and has wrecked numerous marriages due to the man often comparing his significant other to pornstars. If making it illegal saved my marriage I sure wouldn't be complaining!
What's the reason behind the NE & SE Asian countries?
And African? It seems like they'd be more interested in placating their populaces; and I doubt any of the sub-Saharan countries have the capability to enforce the law.
Maybe there's some connection to Christianity/Catholicism- that might explain Guyana.
I guess Communists/Socialists are against porn as well.
It is easy to forget that most of the indonesia area is islamic as well, but south east asia is kind of an outlier. While not islamic, very high islamic populations, and a slew of dictatorships, most likely it's a remnant of some previous regime or social movement. What strikes me as odd are the places like Ukraine.

There's also the added factor that not all but a number of women you see in porn have been trafficked into it against their will.
It lies about sex too.
