As you may have noticed, there are 2 gray areas within the black outline that mark the nation's coastline + international borders. The dotted one is under joint control with Oman whereas the other is under joint control of 2 different municipalities.

If you're gonna ask about that dark outline within the UAE's borders, that's Madha, an exclave of Oman that also enclaves Nahwa, an Emirati village.

Lastly, this is less noticeable but there's a bunch of islands with dotted borders in the North. They are the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa island. This area is disputed between the UAE and Iran and is currently under Iranian control.
