Second person to take this quiz! (I thought I was the first until I saw the above comment!). It's great. My favourite quiz of them all but in colour. Thanks!
I found this quiz via FaroPar's latest blog! And to be honest, I love it! One area of improvement is to also code svg-incorrect. It is no harm to see the colors if you don't feel like naming all in the moment. I understand this would be tedious, so I have a solution. 1. Copy all of your svg-correct coding. 2. Paste it in an empty Google Doc. 3. Hit Ctrl+F and then hit the three bullets on the tab that comes up. 4. Enter "svg-correct" into the find section. 5. Enter "svg-incorrect" into the replace section. 6. Hit apply to all and then copy and paste everything below your original coding.
Kinda but not quite, since Moldova and Ukraine are still slightly different shades of blue. Also, that's less funny/coincidental than Canada/the US/Mexico since those countries are entirely unrelated to Hungary whereas Romania/Moldova/Ukraine already has Ukraine in it.
I have a habit of when i get to Europe going Iceland, Ireland, Israel, UK, Ukraine. And of course always Bahrain, Brunei. Just weird memory techniques i guess.
For instance, I'd love a quiz in which you must name colors to get countries, or one of those "alien invasion" quizzes where you have 30 seconds to save as many people as possible by naming the predominant color on their flag.
An interesting quiz. Perhaps, instead of an arbitrary choice when there are two or more colors to choose from, the color in the upper left corner of the flag would be a better solution.
took the 'regular' quiz more than ten times with a fastest time of 8:51. Took this quiz once and did it in 7:21. I foresee a great year! Happy new year everyone!
Looking at the percentages for this compared to the regular Countries of the World quiz makes it quite clear which quiz is taken more by people who aren't that much into geography. There the percentage for São Tomé is 23% and here it's 85%.
This is the quiz for people who can all already name all the countries (and probably all the flags too) but just want the satisfaction of seeing the end product coloured based on the flags.
if i could make a suggestion, i think it would be more accurate for ireland to be colored either green or white, the orange is a bit of a touchy subject.
So, there are 196 countries and the AVERAGE score is 175. Sorry, but I simply don't believe it. I consider myself reasonably intelligent and I know my geography and I got 133. I have no doubt that people simply cheat themselves, rather than truly test their knowledge, by consulting Google, looking at maps, etc.
Eh, perhaps but once you take it a couple times you start to remember most of them, so it might be from repetition and rehearsal. Keep in mind the people who take a lot of quizzes here are usually very good at geography
For example I got them all with 6:43 remaining, I didn't have to cheat cuz I've taken the countries quiz lots of times so all the people who eventually get 100% inflate the average
Yeah, this site is best known for its geography quizzes, and the Nations of the World quiz in particular. It attracts a certain kind of nerd, so geography quizzes always end up with disproportionately high scores.
There is a feature to turn on "missing countries" it will place a black dot on all the countries you have not guessed. It is located below the quiz window on the bottom right.
Edit: Nominated!
US, Canada, Mexico: H U N G A R Y
Anyways, loved this quiz! Seeing the colors pop out was pretty satisfying :)
But seriously, the fact that France is red and the UK is blue scares me
edit: nevermind
